ADDITIONAL COORDINATED AREA TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT ORANGE COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign agreements for a vehicle and driver lease to provide transportation for the Orange County Middle School Afterschool Program operating at A.L. Stanback School each Monday through Thursday. H. CONTRACT WITB THE UNC SCHOOL OF SOCIAL yPORR FOUNDATION FOR YOUTH AND FAMILY BERVICES COORDINATION The Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign the contract with the UNC School of Social Work Foundation for Youth & Family Services Coordination at a total cost of $125,000. FEE POLICY FOR DATA PROCESSING SERVICES Public comments were received. Shannon Julian noted that the minimum printout fee is scheduled to increase from $10.00 to $25.00. He asked that the Board not approve this increase or let the Land Records Manager establish his own charges. John Schmidt from the News and Observer Newspaper spoke against the increase in fees. He asked that staff work with him on a fee policy that will be acceptable to all. Specifically, he feels the fees are not reasonable. The Board agreed to table this item, request a copy of Executive Order #37 and review the Wake County policy for the same services. f%-/~ Cf~ E. TELEPHONE NUMBER - Hillsborough - 732-8181 Chapel Hill - 968-5401 Durham - 688-7331 Mebane - 227-2031 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PURPOSE: To give authorization to the County Health Director to sign Local Health Department budget documents (DEHNR Form 2948) BACKGROUND: In accordance with G.S. 130A-41.13 the local Health Director may, with County Commissioner approval, enter into contracts on behalf of the local health department. One type of contractual document between the State and the Orange County Health Department is the "Local Health Department Budget", DEHNR Form 2948. Under the present policy, the Chair signs approximately 200 of these documents in one year. The proposed procedural change would authorize the Health Director to sign. these forms in lieu of the Chair. Other contractual documents, such as contracts between the Health Department and local service providers, would continue to be reviewed and approved by the Board of Commissioners. This procedure has been reviewed by Assistant County Manager Rod Visser, Finance Director Ken Chavious and Budget Director Sally Kost and approved. as a more efficient and faster way of handling these budget documents.
