BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Board oP County Commissioners of Prange Countq met in adjourned joint
session with the Countq Planning Board at the dulq advertised public hearing
an Tuesday, April b, 1971, at 8 o~clvck P,M, in the Courtroom oP the Courthouse 1
in Iiillaborvugh, North Carolina.
Members Present: Vise Chairman Henrq Walker and Couanisaionera William C.
Ray, Norman Walker and Ire A. Ward.
Members Absent: Chairman Harvey D, Bennett.
Vice Chairman Walker called the meeting to order and then turned the meeting
over to Charles Johnston, Chairman of the Countq Planning Board. Chairman Johnston
proceeded to conduct the public hearing.
For the minutes eP the meeting of the Orange County Planning Board see the
minute docket of that Board.
At the conclusion oP the public hearing Chairman Jc:hnaton turned the chair
back to Viae Chairman Walker.
There being no further business to come before the meeting said meeting was
adjourned.

BOARD pF COMMISSIONERS
April 13, 1971
Tha Board oP County Commissioners of Crange Countq met in adjourned session
at 7 o~clock P,M. on Tueadaq, April 13, 1971, in the County Commissioners Rvvm of
the Durham County Courthouse in Durham, North Carolina.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Sennett, and Commissioners William C.
Ray, Henry S. Walker and Norman Walker.
Members Absent: Commissioner Ira A. Ward.
Sohn Morissey, Executive Director and General Counsel of the North Carolina
Association of County Commissioners, presented the progress of the legislative
program of the Co~iasioners Association. A question and answer period ensued.
A Seventh District caucus was held and Neil Fleming of Alamance Countq became
the nominee for the position of the Seventh District Director. .
Chairman Bennett then called into session the members oP the Orange Countq
Board of Commissioner a. Chairman Bennett stated that he had received a req..uest
from Richie Leonard, President of the Carolina IInion to hold a Pireworka display
an Saturdaq night, May 1, 1971, at the Navy Field in Chapel Hill.
xt was moved and adopted that Mr. Leonard be granted permission to hold a
fireworks display on Saturdaq, May 1, 1971, provided that said display be conducted
under the supervision of the Chapel Hill FYre Department.
There being no further business to come before the Beard said meeting was
adjourned to meet again on April 26, 1971.
