The Board of Commissioners of Orange County met on Janusrp 15, 1971,
_ at 8 o~clock P.M. in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in Hillsborough,
!~ North Carolina.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey A. Bennett and Commissioners William
C. Rap, Henry S. Walker, Ira A. Ward and C. Norman Walker.
Members Absent: None
Dr. Rop Lindahl, Chairman of the Chapel Hill School Board and Dr. W. C.
Cody, Superintendent of the Chapel Hill Sohool Unit were also preseat.
This meeting was called for the purpose of discussing organization of
Plana for the Forthcoming Loasl Option Sales Tax Election. Discussion
ensued. Chairman Bennett agreed to contact aertaia people in order to
determine if they would accept the responsibility for the organization of
a Planning and Steering Committee.

adjourned.
