PURPOSE: To consider a petition from NCDOT for approval of the addition of Joyce Road and
Ann Road (Extension of SR 1598) in Hillsborough Township to the state-maintained secondary
road system.
BACKGROUND: NCDOT has investigated Joyce Road and Ann Road (Extension of SR 1598)
and submitted a petition for addition to the Board of Commissioners for their review and approval
(see attached Secondary Road Addition Report).
The Board's decision will be forwarded to the N.C. Board of Transportation for their deliberation
on acceptance of the roads to the state-maintained secondary road system.
FINANCIAL IlVIPACT: None for Orange County.
RECOMMENDATON(S): The Administration recommends approval of the addition of Joyce
Road and Ann Road (Extension of SR 1598) in Hillsborough Township to the state-maintained
secondary road system.
