MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMTSSIONER5
The Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session at the Courthouse in
Hillsborough, North Carolina, in the Courtroom at $ o'clock P.M. on Monday,
June 29, 1970.
Members Present: Commissioners Henry 5. Walker, Harvey D. Bennett, Ira A. Ward,
and William C. Ray.
Members Absent: Chairman Carl M. Smith
In the absence of Chairman Smith, Commissioner Walker, who is vice Chairman,
called the meeting to order. Chairman Walker announced that this meeting was being
held for the purpose pf conducting a public hearing an the request to re-zone a
tract of land located 1n Chapel Hill T~onship. Chairman Walker recognized Charles
Johnston, Chairman of the County Planning Board, and turned the Chair Aver to
Mr. Johnston.
For minutes of this public hearing, you are hereby referred to the minutes of
the Orange County Planning Board.

At the conclusion of the public hearing, Chairman Johnston recognized Chairman
Walker and turned the meeting back to Chairman Walker' who then declared the public
hearing adjouned.
Discussion ensued relative to the request of Wade Parrish. The Planning Board
filed with the Board of Commissioners a recommendation that Mr. Parrish~s request
for te-zoning 44,000 square feet in Birchwood Mobile Home Park be approved. Chairman
Walker advised the County Planning.Board that the Board of Commissioners would act
on the request for re-zoning.
Upon moti,an of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, it was moved
and adopted that the request of Wade Parrish to re-zone 44,p00 square feet in Birch-
wood Mobil Home Park from a mobile home park area to rural commercial area be approved.
There, being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was
adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, June 30, 1970, in the Courtroom of the Courthouse.

The Board of Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned session at
the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina, in the Courtroom at 8 o~clock
P.M. on June 30, 1970.
Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett,
Ira A. Ward, Henry 5. Walker and William C. Ray.
Members Absent: None
This meeting was held for the purpose of reviewing the proposed budget for the
fiscal yeax of 1970-71. Discussion ensued relative to the various tax rates which
could be used for the fiscal year.
There being no further business to come before the Soard, the meeting was
adjourned.
