There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, March 2L}, 1970, at 3 P.M. i Carl M. Smith, Chairman 3, M, Gattis, Acting Clerk MINCTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTX BOA1?D OF COMMSSSIOidERS March 2!}, 1970 The Board of Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned session at 3 P. M. on Tuesday, March 2Ja.', 1970, in the Assembly Room of the Carrboro Town Hall, in Caxrbaro, North Carolina. Members Present: Chairman Carl M, Smith, and Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett, William C. Rap and Henry S, Walker. Members Absent: Commissioner Tra A. Ward, This meeting was held in conjunction with representatives of the U. S, Soil & Water Conservation Service and was called for the purpose of discussing the possibility of constructing three additional lakes which would serve as a small water shed and flood control project near the University Lake area. The Conservation _ Service Agent stated that some preliminary study had been conducted and, on the basis of this preliminary study, it was felt that a detail study of such water shed project was warranted, however, the Conservation Service would want the approval of all the Local Governmental units before they proceeded to move further with the proposed project. Chairman Smith advised the assembled group that he, would arrange a meeting for ell interested governmental agenoiea for the purpose of pursuing the proposal.
