There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting wsa
adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, March 10, 1970, at 9 P. M, with the County
Planning Beard, Tuesday;' March 17, 1970, at S P.M. and Tuesday, Marsh 2~., 1970,
at 3 P.M.

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
March 10, 1970
The Board of Commi.ssioaera of Orange County met in adjourned session at 9
P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 1970, in the Commisaicnera Room at the Courthouse in
Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker
and Ira A. Ward.
Members Absent: Commissioner Harvey D. Bennett.
Discussion ensued relative to a Resolution which had been adopted by the
Orange County Housing Authority at a meeting held earlier.
Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was
moved and unanimously adopted, that the Orange County Board of Commissioners
approve the application for Piv® hundred (~00) housing units which, would be made _
to the Department of Housing and Urban Development by the County Housing Authority.
Chairman Smith presented a letter Prom the Health Planning Council for Central
North Carolina. Said letter recommended that Dr. William J. Cromartie, Mra.
Frances Taylor and Dr. 0. David Garvin be appointed as members of the Health _
Planning Council for Central North Carolina for terms which would expire on June
18, 1970.
Upon motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved
and unanimously adopted, that Dr. William J. Cromartie, Mr a. Frances Taylor and Ar.
0. David Garvin be appointed as members of the Health Planning Council. for Central
North Carolina.
Chairman Smith presented a letter from the County Planning Board. Said letter
recorranended that Seation 7.3 of the Chapel Hill Township Zoning Ordinanoe be deleted
from said Ordinanae. Discussion ensued.
Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Couanissioner Ray, it was moved
and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the County Planning Board
relative to the deletion of Section 7.3 of said Ordinance be adapted.
Chairman Smith advised the Board that the County Planning Board recommended
that Section 13.3.2 be amended by adding, substantially, the following wording:
"one cop of a floor plan which may be a reasonable accurate sketch of the proposed
building ' .
iTpon motion of Commissioner Ray, seoonded by Commissioner Walker, it was moved
and unanimously adopted, that the reoommendation of the County Planning Soard, that
Section 13.3.2 of the Chapel Hill Township Zoning Ordinance be amended.
There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned
to meet again on Tuesday, March 17, 1970, with representatives of the Durham
Ambulance Service.
