PURPOSE: To consider amending the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. Staff is trying to arrange several additional meetings involving:
the City of Mebane; Durham County; the Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Orange County School
Boards; and the Assembly of Governments. It appears that the two school boards will be able to
meet with the BOCC on Monday, December 13. Other dates with which staff are working, but
for which meetings have NOT been confirmed, are: November 15; December 6; and December
14.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION(S): Amend the Board of County Commissioners' regular meeting
calendar by adding the following meetings:
December 13, 1999, 7:30 pm -Joint meeting with Boards of Education at Southern
Human Services Center
