In response to a recent request from the BOCC, listed below are agreements the County
currently administers with OE, Inc. (foi~nerly Orange Enterprises, Inc.). OE, Inc. is the
private, non-profit providing vocational services, community-based work experience,
employment opportunities, and in-house contract work for persons in Orange County
with disabilities or facing employment barriers.
Department of Social Services -Annual Contract for Supportive Employment
Services to Work First Clients, $15,000
OE provides vocational evahiations, facility-based work adjustment, job placement
and follow-up for the hardest to place Worlc First participants. During the evaluation
period, the participant is paid minimum wage. The evaluation period is 6 weeks long.
The participant is given many opportunities to work and improve work habits.
2. Central Services -Annual Contract for Courier/1Vlail Services, $44,000
3. Public Works -:Annual Contract for Custodial Services at Gateway Center and
Emergency Services Center, $62,900
4. County Manager's Office/Budget.- A~znual Outside Agency grant agreement for
general support of service complement and support structures (school to work
transition, vocational counseling, job coaching aid job retention, supported
employment, etc.) for Orange County students aid adults, $63, 175.
Orange County also provided $100,000 per year for three years as part of the Elizabeth
Brady Road facility acquisition effort (FY06-FY08).
