Work Experience:
I am a registered nurse with 10 years of trauma experience and over 15 years
experience working with Hospital Epidemiology. My role in Epidemiology has given me
the opportunity to work meet and work with many residents of Orange County and
various service organizations to include the Orange County Health Department. I grew
up in a farming community in N.C. and my children participated in 4H farm projects.
While I do not have any farm work experience outside of summer work while growing up,
I greatly appreciate the value that sustainable farming adds to the local community.
Volunteer Experience:
My county volunteer experience is limited to working with little league and soccer teams
while my sons were growing up. I worked as a volunteer for several years for MedWorld,
a UNC medical volunteer team that collects and recycles medical supplies to developing
nations. I was recently appointed to serve on the Ag Center Work Group and look
forward to serving on that team.Orange Co. Public Health Reserve Corps. Medworld-

Education:
I have a BA in Psychology and an AD in Nursing. I am currently enrolled in the UNC-CH
MPH program and hopefully will complete my degree by the end of 2005.B.A.

Other Comments:
My reason for applying: I have lived and worked in Orange County since 1985. Both my
sons were educated in the Orange County Schools and later successfully completed
college degrees at UNC-CH and NC State University. Living in Orange County had been
a rewarding and enjoyable experience for me and my family and I would very much like
to give back to this community in a meaningful capacity. I grew up in rural N.C., live in
the county and work in Chapel Hill. I feel I would be a good representative for the
interests of both rural and urban county residents. Thank you for considering my
application.! wish to be a part of the' process to plan the long term future of the
Environmental Resources and Agricultural Productivity of Orange County. STAFF

I was on the forefront in quietly assisting the County with the vast purchase of the
Sportsplex by offering up heads up information to assure a smooth and reliable take over
Ethan Vance (the Sellor) by the Countydf ncrease phe revenues cyOle and we need to

make our county resident aware of the facility with perhaps a county wide campaign.
Thanks for considering my request to be Bo rd members and cit ens ogour Orangeeel
