HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 19690127",uu dCi ia4 MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COY,=SSIONERS January 27, 1969 The Board of County Commissioners met in the Commissioners room of the Courthouse in Hillsborough on Monday, January 27, 1969 at 9:30 P.M. Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, and Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett, William C. Ray, Ira A. Ward and Henry S. Walker. Members Absent: None _ Wiley Perry was present to inquire as to the possibility of obtaining sewerage lines to a real estate development which he was planning near Mebane. The Board informed Mr. Perry that they were willing to explore the feasibility of utilizing some of the existing sewerage lines and the numping station facilities which are available in the Mebane Industrial Park area. The Board further informed Mr. Perry that the county could in no manner assume any financial liability for the cost of construction of said sewerage lines to the proposed real estate development. The County Administrator submitted the following bids for the extension of water and sewerage facilities to Apparel, Inc. They are: COMPANY BID Smith Construction Company $22,502.00 Dean Patterson Construction Company $25,710,00 J. K. Barton Construction Company $28,324.00 Propst Construction company $28,337.00 The Smith Construction Company was the low bidder on the contract and offered to complete the project within thirty days. Discussion ensued concerning said matter. Upon motion of Commissinner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved and adopted, that the county accept the low bid of $22,502.00 which had been submitted by Smith Construction Company for the extension of water and sewerage facilities to Apparel, Inc. ?- There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting adjourned.
