December 23, 1968
The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, met in
special session at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina, the usual place
of meeting, at 11 o'clock A.M., on December 23, 1968.
Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, and Commissioners William C. Ray and
Henry S. Walker.
Absent: Commissioners Harvey D. Bennett and Ira A. Ward.
At 11 o'clock A.M., the members of the Board of Commissioners for the County
of Orange received from the registrars and judges of election the returns of the
special bond election held on December 21, 1968, in the Dogwood Acres Sanitary
District. After said returns had been canvassed, Commissioner Walker introduced
the following resolution which was read:
RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE CANVASS-
ING OF THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL
BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE DOGWOOD
ACRES SANITARY DISTRICT ON DECEMBER
21, 1968
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange:
Section 1. The returns of the special bond election held on December 21,
1968, in the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District, Orange County, having been received
from the proper election officers and the Board having canvassed the same, the
following facts are hereby found and determined:
(a) Thnt at a special bond election held in Dogwood Acres Sanitary District
on December 21, 1968, there was submitted to the qualified registered voters of said
Dogwood Acres Sanitary District the following proposition:
Issuing not exceeding $100,000 Water Bonds
for the purpose of providing funds for the
construction of a water system for the Dog-
wood Acres Sanitary District, including
the installation of water mains and lines, as
authorized by a bond resolution adopted by
the Sanitary District Board of said District
on October 21, 1968, and the levy of a tax
for the payment thereof.
(b) That the Board believes that said election was conducted in full com-
pliance with law.

(c) That the following schedule correctly shows the location of the voting
place at which the election was held, the number of voters registered and qualified
to vote in the election and the number of votes cast for and against the pro-
position submitted:

Section 2. At said election a majority of the qualified registered voters of
the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District who voted at said election voted for the approval
of the bond resolution adopted by the Sanitary District Board of the Dogwood Acres
Sanitary District on October 21, 1968, authorizing the issuing of not exceeding
$100,000 Water Bonds of said Sanitary District for the purpose of providing funds
for the construction of a water system for said District, including the installation
of water mains and lines, and the levy of a tax for the payment thereof.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners be and she is hereby directed
to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Sanitary District Board of the
Dogwood Acres Sanitary District..
Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Ray, the foregoing
resolution entitled: RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE CANVASSING OF THE RETURNS OF THE
SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE DOGWOOD ACRES SANITARY DISTRICT ON DECEMBER 21,
1968" was passed by the following vote:

The board of Commissioners of the County of Orange and the Board of Elections
of the County of Orange meeting in joint session, having opened, canvassed, and
judicially determined the returns according to law, do hereby certify that the
above is a true abstract of the original returns of the Special Bond Election of
the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District held in said District, on Saturday, December
21, 1968.

STATEMENT OF RESULT OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION
held in the
DOGWOOD ACRES SANITARY DISTRICT
in
ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA
on December 21, 1968
At a special bond election held on December 21, 1968, in the Dogwood Acres
Sanitary District, in Orange County, North Carolina, 129 voters were registered
and qualified to vote.
At said election 84 voters voted for the approval of the bond resolution
adopted by the Sanitary District Board of said Dogwood Acres Sanitary District
on October 21, 1968, authorizing the issuing of not exceeding $100,000 Water Bonds
of said Sanitary District for the purpose of providing funds for the construction
of a water system for said District, including the installation of water mains and
lines, and the levy of a tax for the payment thereof, and 32 voters voted against the
approval of said bond resolution authorizing the issuing of said bonds and the levy
of a tax for the payment thereof, and therefore a majority of the qualified re istered
voters voting at the election voted for said bond resolution authorizing said 1100,000
Water Bonds of the Dogwood Acres Sanitary District and the levy of a tax for the
payment thereof.
