Re: Park Bond Issuance Information Abstract
Based on a request for clarification from Commissioners during the August
19, 2008 regular Board meeting, I am providing the following information for
agenda item 6-a -- Issuance of Remaining 2001 Voter Approved Bonds. The
County issued the first installment of $19.175 million in general obligation
bonds from the 2001 authorization in April of 2003. This included $1.3 million
of Affordable Housing bonds and $3.625 million of Parks and Open Space
Bonds. The second installment in August of 2004 totaled $19.74 million in
general obligation bonds from the 2001 authorization. This issuance included
$1.3 million of Affordable Housing bonds and $10.875 million of Parks and
Open Space Bonds. There is a remaining authorization to issue up to $5.5
million Parks and Open Space bonds and $1.4 million Affordable Housing
bonds. This authorization will be fulfilled by the issuance of either alternative
financing or general obligation debt in the early part of 2009.
