A road petition for roads # 1320, 1316, 1313 and 1315 was received and the clerk was authorized to forward same to the State Highway Commission. There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was adjourned to meet again on Wednesday, November 6, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. for the purpose of conducting a joint-public hearing with the County Planning Board. Gattis, Acting Clerk MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS November 6, 1968 The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, met in adjourned session in the Courtroom of the County Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina on November 6, 1968. Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith, Henry Walker and Ira A. Ward. Members Absent: None The Chairman declared that this was the time and place as duly advertised for the public hearing with the County Planning Board. For minutes of said public hearing see the minute docket book of the Orange County Planning Board. The Chairman then declared the public hearing adjourned. The Board of Commissioners began consideration on the Brack Pearson recommendation which had been received by the Board of Commissioners from the County Planning Board on Monday, November 4, 1968. Discussion ensued. Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Ward, it was moved and unanimously adopted that the recommendation of the County Planning Board relative to the Brack Pearson request to rezone his property from a residential area to a mobile home park area be denied. There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned to meet again on Thursday, November 7, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. Harvey D. Bennett, Chairman S. M. Gattis, Acting Clerk ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS November 7, 1968 The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina met in adjourned session in the Commissioners Room of the County Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina on November 7, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. Members Absent: Commissioner Carl M. Smith. LOOT, '1a !J6 Officers of the Town of Mebane requested that the Board of Commissioners consider the relocation of the proposed water line, in the industrial park, to Melville Furniture Company. The requested plans would be to place the line to Center Street, instead of extending the existing line at Piedmont Steel & Tube Company northward to Melville Furniture Company. The requested new route would double the cost of the installation, but more persons could be served by the said water line. This matter was taken under advisement byh Board. Members Present: Chairman Bennett and Commissioners William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. Members Absent: None Fred S. Cates, Mayor of the Town of Hillsborough, Arthur Crabtree, Bill Kennedy, Allen Lloyd and John Roberts, Members of the Hillsborough Board of Aldermen, Lucius Cheshire, Attorney for the Town of Hillsborough and the County of Orange, June Crumpler, President of the Orange-Alamance Water System, Inc., Robert B. Nichols, Turner Forrest and David McLeod, Directors of the Orange-Alamance Water System, Inc. were present for said meeting.
