moved and adopted that Chairman Bennett and the County Administrator be appointed
to secure the necessary right of ways and enter into agreements for the purpose
of the installation of the water and sewer lines in the industrial par'_t area.
The following department officials presented their 1966-1969 budget request.

Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners William C.
Ray, Carl M. Smith and Ira A. Ward.
Members Absent: Commissioner Henry S. Walker.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the proposed 1968-1969 budget.
The County Administrator was instructed to prepare the 1968-1969 budget
in Complete form for adoption at::a meeting to be held on Monday, July 22, 1968
at 8 P.M. in the Commissioners room at the courthouse in Hillsborough, N. C.
There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was
adjourned to meet again on Monday, July 15, 1968, 7:30 P.H. in the courtroom
at the Chapel Hill City Hall in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
July 15, 1968
The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned session
at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, July 15, 1968, in the Courtroom at the Chapel Hill City
Hall in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. Ray,
Ira A. Ward and Henry S. Walker.
Members Absent: Commissioner Carl M. Smith.
This meeting was held at the request of Dr. Hubert Patterson, Chief Medical
Examiner for Orange County. Members of the following governmental agencies were
present: Medical Examiners, police and sheriff departments and Ambulance Service,
Inc.
Dr. Patterson stated that he was of the opinion that a lack of communications
existed between the various agencies present and that this meeting was called in
order that a discussion of the role that each agency felt it should assume and the
role that each agency felt that the other agencies should assume would be helpful in
resolving the current problems. Discussion ensued.
