Neither of the boards were satisfied with the survey results as shown on the
presented map. The surveyors were instructed to continue with their efforts to
establish an acceptable boundary line between the two counties.
There being no further business to come before the board said meeting was
adjourned to meet again on Monday, February 12, 1968 at 3:30 P.M. at the Orange
Savings & Loan Building in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
February 12, 1968
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Monday,
February 12, 1968 at 3:30 P.M. in the Orange Savings & Loan Building in Chapel
Hill, North Carolina.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. Ray,
Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward.
Members Absent: Commissioner Carl M. Smith.
Ed Swindell, Durham County Manager, Durham County Board Members Scarborough and
Easley were present.
Discussion ensued concerning the Durham-Orange boundary line location. It was
agreed that each county would present the following proposal to their respective
boards at their next regular meeting, said agreement would be to recommend that the
boundary line be established between Durham County and Orange County and that said
line would be located 3,075 feet East of County road #1008. Said road also being
known as the Farrington Road. It was further agreed if this-proposal was accepted
by both of the counties then the necessary legal procedure would be initiated in
order that this boundary line be definitely established.
There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was
adjourned.

MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
March 2, 1968
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met on Sunday, March 2, 1968 at 3 P.M.
in the Orange Savings & Loan Building at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, Commissioners William C. Ray, Henry
S. Walker and Ira A. Ward.
Members Absent: Commissioner Carl M. Smith.
Senator Don S. Matheson, Thomas D. Rose, Engineer, and Burnice Ward were present for
said meeting.
The meeting was held for the purpose of discussing the petition filed by B. B. Olive
to the proposed reclassification of New Hone Creek. Said petition is requesting that
New Hope Creek be reclassified from a Class D stream to a Class B stream.
There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was adjourned.
