MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
February 20, 1968
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Tuesday,
February 20, 1968 in the Commissioners' Room at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North.
Carolina at 2.30 P.M.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. Ray
and Henry S. Walker.
Members Absent: Commissioners Carl M. Smith and Ira A. Ward.
This special meeting was called for the purpose of opening bids for the orange
County Welfare Building. The place of meeting, after the convening of this special
meeting, it was moved that the meeting reconvene in the Assembly Room of the County
Agriculture Building.
All bids submitted were publioally open and the following low bids were announced:
General Contract - Van Thomas $141,990.00
Heating Contract - Perry Electrical Company $13,600.00
Plumbing Contract - Suggs Plumbing Company $8,090.00
Electrical Contract - Perry Electrical Company $12,600.00
Discussion ensued concerning these bids. It was moved that the above listed
contracts be awarded and Chairman Bennett was authorized to sign the contracts,
after same were approved by the County Attorney.
There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was
adjourned.
