PURPOSE: To consider a petition from NCDOT for approval of the addition of Elizabeth
Walters Road in the Hannah Creek Subdivision, Cedar Grove Township to the State-
maintained Secondary Road System.
BACKGROUND:
Request: Developers of Hannah Creek Subdivision have petitioned NCDOT to accept the
maintenance responsibilities for Elizabeth Walters Road.
Location: Elizabeth Walters Road (0.18 mi.) is located off the southwest side of High Rock
Road (SR 1340) in Cedar Grove Township.
Development Process. Schedule. and Action: NCDOT has investigated this request (see
attached Secondary Road Addition Report) and has submitted the petition to the Board of
Commissioners for their review and approval. The Board must take an administrative action to
approve the petition to NCDOT in order for NCDOT to accept Elizabeth Walters Road into the State
Maintenance Program.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None to the County.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends approval of the petition for addition of
Elizabeth Walters Road to the State Secondary Road Maintenance Program.
