OF COMMISSIONERS
October 23, 1967
The Board of Commissioners of Orange County met in the Board Room
of the Orange Savings & Loan Association in Chapel Hill, North at 7:30
P.M. on Monday, October 23, 1967.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners William
0. Ray and Ira A. Ward.
Members Absent: Commissioners Carl M. Smith and Henry S. Walker.
This meeting was held for the purpose of discussing with the Planning
Board the implications of any sewerage disposal policies contained in the
proposed subdivision ordinance for Chapel Hill Township.
Pearson Stewart and Harry Palmer along with members of the orange County
Planning Board were present for this meeting.
The Planning Board was requested to continue their study of the sewerage
problems and to present their report to the Board of Commissinners as soon
as a set of standards for sewerage disposal was developed.
There being no further business to come before the board said meeting
was adjourned to meet on Wednesday, October 25, 1967.

MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
October 25, 1967
The Board of Commissioners of Orange County met in special adjourned
session in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in Hillsborough at
11:00 A.M., October 25, 1967.
Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. Ray,
Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward.
Absent: Commissioner Carl M. Smith
This meeting was held for the purpose of receiving Part C Bond Program
Expenditures, which represents the balance of Orange County's portion of the
recent state road bond allocation, from the following State Highway Officials:
Mr. Harrington, Division Highway Commissioner, Mr. T. A. Burton, Division
Highway Engineer, Mr. Earl Hoover, District Highway Engineer, Mr. J. B. Taylor,
Assistant Engineer and Clarence Walters, County Road Foreman.
T. A. Burton, Division Engineer, presented the following:

Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was moved
and adopted that Part C Bond Program, Orange County as presented by T. A. Burton,
Division Engineer of the State Highway Commission, be approved.
The Clerk to the Board was requested.to forward to the State Highway Commission
the following petitions:
South Tinkerbell Road, Colony Woods
SR #1302 to SR 1374
Tom Ward, Welfare Director, presented Mrs. Dorothy Gamble, candidate for
Community Coordinator. Mr. Ward reviewed Mrs. Gamble's professional background
and stated the goals of the Community Coordinator Program. The Board advised
Mr. Ward that it had no objections to Mrs. Gamble being employed in orange County
as Community Coordinator.
There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was
adjourned.
