PURPOSE: To consider two changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. The Shaping Orange County's Future Committee has
scheduled a countywide community forum on May 1 S at 7:30 and has invited all the Orange
County elected officials to attend. The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Board cannot meet an
September 21 because this is their regular school board meeting.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar by adding a meeting for May 18, 2000 at 7:30 p.m. at the Stanback Middle
School on Sfi South and change the date for the meeting with the two school boards from
September 21 to September 27, 2000 with the location the same at the Southern Human
Services Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
