Upon motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was moved and adopted, that Giovanni.vichol of Eno Townshio be appointed as a member of the County Planning Board for a three year term effectiv 1967. e as of September 28, Dalton Loftin was present to discuss with the Board the position and salary relative to the acceptance of the appointment as Judge or the Recorders Court. Mr_ Loftin stated that his firm would not consider the apcointment unless the salary of $150.00 per court day was rendered for said service. Discussion ensued. No action was taken on said matter. Bennett, Chairman MIRUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS September 25, 1967 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Monday, September 25, 1967 at eight o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. Members absent: None Also present were officials of the Town of Mebane. This meeting was held at the request of the Mebane Town Officials. Discussion ensued concerning the request of the Town of Mebane relative to the possibility of Orange County changing the requested sewerage tap fee in order that a new plant South of Mebane might tap the sewerage line now owned by Orange County. The Board of Commissioners agreed that the designated sewerage tap fee would not be-changed. Upon motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved and adopted that the County Administrator be authorized to activate a portion of the Mental Health Program, approved in the 1967-1968 budget, if authorization and approval was received from Dr. 0. David Garvin, District Health Officer, and Dr. W. T. Edgerton of the UNC School of Psychia:-'ry, The portion of the Mental Health Program which would be activated is that portion which would be operated by the UNC School of Psychology.
