PURPOSE: To consider an appointment to the Arts Commission.
BACKGROUND: There is one vacancy on the Orange County Arts Commission created when
member David O'Dell moved out of state. The Arts Commission recommends Ms. Flynt Burton
to fill this slot.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Board will consider making one appointment to the Arts
Commission to fill the unexpired term of David O'Dell, whose term expires March 31, 2005.

The Orange County Arts Commission would like to .recommend ,Flynt
Burton to be appointed to the Orange County Arts Commission, to
complete the term of David O'Dell.
David O'Dell, who was reappointed on 6/27/2002, has moved out of
state. His current term expires 3/31/2005.
Flynt Burton is the manager of New World Stage Theatre Company.
She is a resident of Hillsborough and has expressed an interest in
serving on our board by submitting her volunteer application to
Orange County. Her addition to the-board will add needed
representation from the theatre community, and will broaden our
approach by adding a fresh outlook.
