PURPOSE: To consider making an appointment to the Jury Commission.
BACKGROUND: One citizen appointment is made by the Board of Commissioners. One
appointment is made by the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge, and the third appointment is
made by the Clerk of Superior Court. This Commission reviews the list of potential jurors and
prepares the Master Jury List annually.
The third two (2)-year term of the B.O.C.C. member, Ms. Judy Cox, expired June 30, 2002 and
she is not eligible for reappointment. Recruitment has been done by staff in the office of the
Clerk to the B.O.C.C., and four applications have been received.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making an appointment to the Jury Commission for a
two-year term to expire June 30, 2004.
