Wednesday, February 1, 1967
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Wednesday,
February 1, 1967, at 11 o'clock a.m. at the site of the Piedmont Steel & Tubing
Company proposed plant.
Members present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, Commissioners William C. Ray,
Carl M. Smith, Henry Walker and Ira A. Ward.
Members absent: None
The purpose of this meeting was to attend the dedication and groundbreaking
ceremonies of the Piedmont Steel & Tubing Company plant, known as the Berger Plant,
which is located in the new industrial Park Area of northwestern Orange County.
Commissioner Carl M. Smith presided at the ceremonies as Mester of Ceremonies.
After the.ceremonies the Board discussed various county matters.
There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was
adjourned to meet again on Friday, February 3, 1967, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the
office of Commissioner Carl M. Smith in Chapel Hill, N. C.

The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on
Friday, February 3, 1967, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the office of Commissioner Carl
M. Smith at Chapel Hill, N. C.
Members present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, Commissioners William C. Ray,
Carl M. Smith, Henry Walker and Ira A. Ward.
Members absent: None
The purpose of this meeting was to diecuas the proposed Draft #7 of the
Chapel Hill Township Zoning Ordinance.
There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was
adjourned.
