PURPOSE: To fill two vacancies on the Human Services Advisory Commission (HSAC).
BACKGROUND: All of the At-Large positions on the HSAC have recently been filled; however,
there remain vacancies for Communities-In-Schools, United Way, and the Orange County
Partnership for Young Children (OCPYC).
A recommendation has been made nominating Ms. Lois Kinzie for the Partnership for Young
Children position. Ms. Kinzie has been serving as an alternate for Ms. Sue Russell and she has
expressed an interest to be appointed as a regular member.
Ms. Linda Tuday has been nominated by the Triangle United Way, to replace Mr. Hershel
Slater.
The nomination from Communities-In-Schools is forthcoming.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider appointing to the Human Services Advisory Commission
the following people: Ms. Lois Kinzie to a regular position for the Orange County Partnership for
Young Children, for a partial term to expire March 31, 2004, and Ms. Linda Tuday for the
Triangle United Way, for a partial term to expire March 31, 2003.
