PURPOSE: To make appointments to the Durham Tech Satellite Campus Advisory Committee
for Programming Needs Assessment (ACPNA).
The Orange County Board of Commissioners approved a Resolution of Intent to site a satellite
campus of the Durham Technical Community College (DTCC) in Orange County, The final
decision for selecting a site for the facility will be the responsibility of the County
Commissioners.
In addition to.selecting a site for the satellite campus, a second component critical to the
development of a DTCC satellite campus is determining the needs of the community as it
respects offerings at the satellite campus. All elements of the population are to be considered in
this first step toward developing a plan for degree and/or certificate programs, courses and
other adult education services for Orange County's community college campus. Current and
future employers will be involved in the study to ensure that the workforce is being prepared for
jobs available in the County.
The Advisory Committee for Programming Needs Assessment (ACPNA)will be charged to
serve as advisors to DTCC and Orange County staff who will be conducting a County adult
educational needs assessment. DTCC has recommended that the membership of the ACPNA
shall be appointed both by the Orange County Commissioners and the DTCC Board of
Trustees, with the following positions to be appointed by the BOCC.
