PURPOSE: To discuss issues of concern to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education.
BACKGROUND: The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education indicated the desire to discuss
issues related to potential school merger and the planned third high school in the CHCCS
system. Those topics are to be addressed under item number 1 on this September 29 work
session agenda. This portion of the agenda affords the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of
Education the opportunity to raise any additional topics they may wish to discuss with the other
two governing boards.
No Attachments
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact tied directly to the discussion at this
meeting. However, decisions that may be made by one or more of the elected boards at
subsequent meetings are likely to have significant implications for future capital and operating
budgets.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the boards discuss the issues noted
and provide direction to staff, as appropriate.
