estimated cost of such additional school facilities being $1,000.000.00.
Section 2. The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange is requested
to take all necessary steps, by the issuance of bonds or otherwise, in order that
funds may be provided for such school facilities.
Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall immediately be certified to the
Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the foregoing resolution was passed by
the following vote:
Ayes: C. W. Stanford, John E. Hawkins, John L. Efland, Jr., Roger L. Marshall
and W. Glen Caruthers, Jr.
Noes: None
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is an accurate copy of so much of the
recorded proceedings of a meeting of The Orange County Board of Education held on
October 3, 1966, as relate to the passage of the resolution hereinabove set forth,
and that such proceedings have been recorded in Volume III, beginning at page 185
and ending at page 185.

George A. Dale, Executive Director of the Joint Orange Chatham Community
Action, Inc.,,presented the following budget request for this agency. This
budget is planned to cover a fourteen (14) month fiscal period which will begin as
of January 1, 1967 and run through February 28, 1968. A budget summary is shown
below:
Federal Grant $65,169.00
Local Share 7,241.00
Total Program $72,410.00
Division of Local Funds
Orange County 60% $ 4,344.00
Chatham County 40% 2,897.00
Total $ 7,241.00
Upon motion of Commissioner Cleveland it was moved that the Board of
Commissioners approve the Joint Orange Chatham Community Action Program budget as
pertains to the county's 60% of said request. Commissioner Ray seconded said
motion. Chairman Bennett called for a vote upon said motion. There were three (3)
ayes and one (1) noes. Chairman Bennett then declared said motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was
adjourned to meet again on Wednesday, October 19,'1966 in the court room of the
Courthouse in Hillsborough at 8:00 o'clock P.M.

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
October 11, 1966
The Board of Commissioners for the County-of Orange, North Carolina, met in
adjourned session at the County Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina, at
8:00 o'clock P.M. on Tuesday, October 112 1966 in the Court room in Hillsborough.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Sennett, and Commissioners Gordon B.
Cleveland, William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith, and Henry S. Walker.
Members absent: None

Also present were members of the Orange Co:.jnty Industrial Development
Commission.
This meeting was called for the purpose of discussion of proposals and probl
concerning the forthcoming Water and Sewer Bond election.
There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was
adjourned to meet again on Monday, October 17, 1966 at 8:00 F.M. in the Commissio
room at the Courthouse in Hillsborough.
