PURPOSE: To approve a Cooperative Agreement Between Orange County and the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)for services performed during
the IFFY 2002.
BACKGROUND: On September 29, 1998, the Board of Commissioners approved a
Cooperative Agreement with HUD for the period beginning the first (111) day of October 1998 to
the thirtieth (301i) day of September 1999. HUD proposes a new Worksharing Agreement to
cover the FY 2002. For FY 2002, HRR received $1800 per/case closed during the period July.
1, 2001 through June 15, 2002, funds for administrative costs, education and outreach. (We
have counted five cases processed during this period; however HUD has the final decision as to
number of cases closed.)
FINANCIAL IMPACT: HUD proposes that the Human Relation Commission receive $15,000 for
administrative costs, $27,500 for training and $1800 for all cases closed July 1, 2001 through
June 15, 2002.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the Cooperative
Agreement and authorize the Chair to sign the agreement, subject to the approval of the County
Attorney and Staff.
