PURPOSE: To consider 5 changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar for
the year 2003.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. The Board of County Commissioners will consider adding the
following meetings:
Thursday, September 18, 2003 -Public Hearing for HSUS Animal Shelter Study- 7:30
p.m. -Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, North
Carolina
Thursday, October 16, 2003 -Public Hearing for School Merger - 7:30 p.m. - F.
Gordon Battle Courtroom, 106 East Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Thursday, October 23, 2003 -Public Hearing for School Merger -7:30 p.m. -Southern
Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Thursday, November 20, 2003 -Work Session on School Merger - 7:30 p.m. Southern
Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
The Board of County Commissioners will also consider changing the location of their Monday,
September 15, 2003 Work Session from the Government Services Center in Hillsborough to the
Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar by adding the following meetings:

The Manager also recommends that the Board change the location of their Monday, September
