BACKGROUND: Initial appointments were made for this taskforce on .June 23, 2005. The objectives of the TDR Taskforce are to: 1. Sustainably balance rural and urban areas; 2. Direct growth and development away from important natural and cultural resources and towards areas mare able to support municipal services and urban densities; 3.. To provide working farms with an alternative income potential; and 4. To link zoning densities to comprehensive plan goals and policies. Taskforce members may be chosen from the fallowing general sectors, including, but not limited to: local governments, advisory boards, banking and finance, private sector community/ neighborhood groups, utilities, developers, lawyers, agriculture, planning, natural areas advocacy, real estate, and environmental protection. Previous appointments to the TDR taskforce have filled the majority of stakeholder sectors suggested by the consultant. Having been in recent conversation with the consultant, staff recommends that the TDR Taskforce will be an efficient board at approximately 15 members. The remaining stakeholder sectors yet unfilled include: advisory board (e.g. design/planning if the attached who can fulfill Planning Board), and possibly existing appointee in that secto these interest areas. the local government, utility, statutory, natural areas advocate and/or urban r cannot attend.
