PURPOSE: To move one alternate member to a regular position.
BACKGROUND: There is a vacancy for a regular member on the Orange County Board of
Adjustment because of the rotation off the Board by member Steve Medlin.
Ms. Joyce M. Beasley, an alternate member, has expressed interest in serving as a regular
member. Since it is easier to recruit for alternate members, this action.would help in filling the
positions on this board sooner.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION(S): Move alternate member, Joyce Moore Beasley, from position no. 2:
Alternate —At-Large, to position no. 6: Regular—At-Large, with a term expiration date of June
30, 2005. Consider filling Alternate position (3 applications) or instruct the Clerk to advertise.
