MAP Steering Committee-May No action N/A N/A Aging Plan 15 8. 2027-32 MAP Development Process. Leiha shared a presentation about Year 4 accomplishments, developing the next MAP, and outreach logistics for the MAP survey. 8a. Community Engagement Survey Distribution 9.Third Quarter Workgroup Reports will be given at June meeting 3. New Business 10. FY 26-27 Budget Updates. Invite two board Janice 6/9/26 Janice shared the proposed budget applicants to next Tyler reductions for our Department meeting based on the county manager's proposed budget with 3.75 tax rate increase. She shared that one of the reductions is reassigning one of our joint Aging/DSS Social Workers to go to DSS.Another reduction is eliminating the Evening/Weekend Facility Manager Position,with the proposed solution being`flexing' the full-time staff to cover weeknights and Saturdays.Also discussed was the increase in program/class fees to generate $10,000 in revenue.The group discussed the difficulties for OC older adults and Department on Aging staff that would arise if these budget cuts, and/or further cuts, were implemented.The group also discussed the outside funding that is part of the Department on Aging's budget.Janice also shared the proposed budget cuts for Department on Aging Page 3 of 6 ORANGE COUNTY—ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES Advisory Board on Aging 1 5/12/2026 Agenda Item . . Owner Due Charles' House funding.The board is planning to advocate at the public hearings about the budget. 10a. May 12—Public Hearing— Whitted Building, Hillsborough 10b. May 28—Public Hearing— Southern Human Services—Chapel Hill 11. Board Membership 11 a. Removal of two board members by the BOCC on April 21. Thank you to Jerry Gergory and GiGi Rashdi for your years of service to our board and support to the Master Aging Plan Implementation and Development.You will be greatly missed. 11 b.Vacancies and recommendations for appointments.Janice shared the previously chosen two potential board members could not attend meetings during business hours, meaning they are not viable options for board members. Dan said he knows an applicant, Carla Julian, and shared his support for her joining the board.Janice shared that some applications were submitted some time ago and we may need to do some outreach to receive new ones. Rachel's term will be up in July and we will need to fill her spot then as well.The board wants Jerry to re-apply to join the board.Janice is going to invite Michelle Handy and Carla Julian to our next meeting. 4. Committee 12. Senior Tar Heel Legislature— No action N/A N/A Progress Reports if Vibeke Talley, STHL Delegate and needed Rafael Velez, STHL alternate delegate.Vibeke shared they are meeting with legislators next week to discuss pressing aging issues. Nursing Home and Adult Care Home Joint Community Advisory Committee-Jackie Podger.Jackie shared they added their 11t" board member, but lost another, so they are currently at 10 members. 14. Friends of the Passmore Center.Janice shared we had over 200 people attend Passmore's Spring Market and Open House event last Saturday! 14a. Chattanooga Choo Choo Trip Sept 8-11 14b.
