Will be attending Philanthropy session, NC Land Trusts ■ NC Affordable Housing Conference I o Orange County Land Use Plan ■ County Commissioners asked for presentations before voting ■ https://www.orangecountync.gov/1707/BOCC-Agendas ■ Expected Spring 2026 ■ Zoning questions for county areas Orange County Land Use Plan 2050 — Guiding Our Future On March 11, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) received a preliminary draft Land Use Plan 2050. Board review and feedback on the draft was requested to inform any changes to the draft required prior to the opening of the next Community Engagement Window. Subsequently, the Board requested additional background information from County staff for the purpose of further informing its review. In response to the Board's request, Informational presentations are to take place at BOCC meetings through November 2025. The BOCC will receive a schedule for these presentations, as well as potential financial impacts of guest presenters, at its August 26 regular BOCC meeting. Additional information, including robust public notification, will be forthcoming closer to the opening of engagement. Will have increase of over 200% in HOME resources. • Will be spending previous years and current years money. ■ Longtime Homeowners Tax Assistance Program very popular due to reevaluation of assessments. • Immense need this year. • Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro are matching funds this year. • $360,000 of assistance this year. Consider changes to increase impact in future years. ■ Consolidated Plan Language • Responding to Executive Orders re: key terms ■ Housing Analysis • Want to include as information item at a Board meeting to be able to engage with it prior to our annual work plan presentation ■ Staff Shout Out for Willie, Aaron, and other key staff • Lots going on, including Consolidated Plan wrap up • Down administrative staff with responsibility to manage several programs ■ Partnership to End Homelessness Meeting later this week • Aiming to get more resident engagement.
