7:05 IV. CFE Membership
The Chair will introduce a new applicant,and the CFE will discuss recruitment and member
retention.There will be no vote on new members this month.
7:20 V. Earth Day and Ripple Award Presentation
The Chair will lead a discussion of the Earth Day event at Blackwood Farm Park and the
presentation of the first Ripple Awards.The CFE will discuss methods to ensure event
announcements reach the full County public.
7:35 VI. State of Environment Discussion
The CFE will update on drafts and final steps: Edits and formatting for final drafts; Update on
Tree Canopy Study.
7:55 VII. Sub-Committee Breakouts
Each group will work on final drafts and formatting;fill in any missing materials; 1
person/Subcommittee needed to help with final edits
8:40 VIII. Updates and Information Items
Staff and/or CFE members will provide updates on the following items:
• Faucets to Floods Forum/Climate Challenge
• July Clothing Swap
• CCAG Promotion
• Trails Plan Update
• Water/Rest/Shade Flyer

1. Chair Regina Baratta provided an update on Hillsborough Climate Challenge Events planned for
April.
2. Kalani Allen provided an update on the Draft Trails Plan to be presented to the BOCC on April 14th.

3. Wesley Poole notified the CFE that Creek Week went well for Orange County back in March.
4. Mel Gilles notified the CFE that Repair Cafe went well and there will be more to come.
5. Karina Nabors notified the CFE that there would be an EV101 webinar on April 22"d at 2:OOPM for
people to learn more about electric vehicles.
6. Aimee Vandemark notified the CFE that there would be a Forest Bathing opportunity coming up at
the new certified trail at the Eno Confluence.
7. Chris Hirni provided an update on Land Use Plan 2050.
8. Amy Eckberg acknowledged Mel Gilles for her National County Government Month recognition.
9. Leto Copeley notified the CFE of the "Faucets to Floods" panel discussion that would be held on
April 22"d by the Hillsborough Climate Challenge.
