PURPOSE: To consider making an appointment to the Nursing Hame Community Advisory
Committee (NHCAC).
BACKGROUND: There being 12 positions on the Nursing Home Community Advisory
Committee; and, currently, two being vacant, one being an At-Large position; and,
advertisement having been done and applications having been received by the Clerk's office;
and consideration of the applications received having been made by the Committee, a
recommendation has been made by the Committee to appoint Ms. Mary Ann Peter to an At-
Large position.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider appointing Mary Ann Peter to the Nursing Home
Community Advisory Committee for an initial one-year training term to expire June 30, 2004.

The OC Nursing Home Advisory Committee would like to recommend that the Commissioners
appoint Mary Ann Peter to the open member-at-large position on the Nursing Home Community
Advisory Committee, which was vacated by Anne Skelly on 12/31/02.
Ms. Peter, who has extensive experience in nursing, has sat in on a conunittee meeting, and she
is very interested in pursuing this volunteer path. As a resident of Hillsborough and a Duke
employee, Ms. Peter can bring the committee feedback from the northern part of the County.
I hope that this can be added to the May 20t'' BOCC meeting so that Ms. Peter can attend our
next meeting.
