PURPOSE: To consider appointing one member to the Advisory Board on Aging.
BACKGROUND: There being one At-Large vacancy on the Advisory Board on Aging created
by the resignation of Mr. D. McDougald (Mack) Monroe, Jr., and recruitment being done for
someone to take his place, the Orange County Advisory Board on Aging has reviewed all
applications received.
The Advisory Board on Aging has made a recommendation to appoint Ms. Mary Ann Peter of
118 W. Tryon Street, Hillsborough, N.C. 27278 to the open At-Large position
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider appointing Mary Ann Peter to the Advisory Board on Aging
to an At-Large position and for a first term to expire June 30, 2005.

The Orange County Advisory Board on Aging reviewed all applicants for the Aging Board
vacancy by Mr. D. McDougald Monroe's resignation and recommend Mary Ann Peter for the At-
Large position running through year 2005.
Mary Ann Peter is a resident of Hillsborough, North Carolina and has showed an active interest
in the development of senior centers, senior housing and serving the older adult frail population.
She also has had training and a career in nursing and serves on the Durham Technical
Community College Board of Trustees. Both of these experiences will be helpful as we work on
continuing education and wellness programs at our new senior centers.
