PROCLAMATION
VOLUNTEER WEEK
April 19 =25 , 2026
WHEREAS , National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize and honor the impact of
volunteer service and come together to tackle community needs and foster a culture of civic
engagement ; and
WHEREAS , experience teaches us that government by itself cannot solve all our nation ' s
problems ; and
WHEREAS , volunteering one ' s time , talents , and resources has been an integral part of our
heritage since the early days of our nation ; and
WHEREAS , Orange County has a strong history of improving lives , strengthening communities ,
and making our county a better place through volunteerism ; and
WHEREAS , it is essential that we continue this tradition of giving and sharing to preserve and
improve the quality of life for all members of our community ; and
WHEREAS , volunteer service is needed more than ever as communities work to support and
uphold their ideals on a local level ; and
WHEREAS , the Orange County Board of Commissioners encourages all community members
to celebrate Volunteer Week by promoting volunteerism in our families and communities and
being all in for Orange County ;
NOW THEREFORE , we , the Orange County Board of Commissioners , do hereby proclaim April
19 -25 , 2026 , as "Volunteer Week" in Orange County .
