RESOLUTION OF APPROVAL
A RESOLUTION AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF THE ORANGE COUNTY CODE
OF ORDINANCES
Be it Resolved and Ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County , North Carolina :
WHEREAS , the Board of Commissioners has determined a change in state law related to law
enforcement officers impacts the Personnel Ordinance ; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Commissioners has determined an amendment is necessary to the
retirement benefits options available to local government law enforcement officers .
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED , that the Code of Ordinances , Orange County , North
Carolina , Chapter 28 , is hereby amended by amending section § 28 -28 , which amended section
reads as shown in the attached revised Personnel Ordinance .
This Amendment shall become effective upon adoption .
Adopted by the Orange County Board of Commissioners this 21st day of October 2025 .
