BACKGROUND: Rainevwood Drive (extension of SR 1417). Silk Oaks Court. Sandalwood Drive, Crimson Court: Residents on Raineywood Drive (2 homes), Silk Oaks Court (4 homes) Sandalwood Drive (4 homes) and Crimson Court (5 homes) have petitioned NCDOT to accept maintenance responsibilities for those roads. Raineywood Drive, located north of Lebanon Road (SR 1306) off the east side of Daniels Farm Road (SR 1412) in Cheeks Township, provides access for Silk Oaks Court, Sandalwood Drive and Crimson Court. The roads were platted in Phase 2 and Phase 3 of Raineywood Subdivision, approved by the Orange County Board of Commissioners in August 1997. Percussion Drive. Stillwater Lane: Residents of Percussion Drive (16 homes) and Stillwater Lane (6 homes), in Thomas Place Subdivision, have petitioned NCDOT to accept maintenance responsibilities for those roads. Thomas Place Subdivision is located off the south side of Walker Road (SR 1553) in Eno Township. The Orange County Board of Commissioners approved the preliminary plat for Thomas Place in August 1995. NCDOT has investigated these requests (please refer to attached Secondary Road Addition Reports), and has submitted the petitions to the Board of Commissioners for its review and approval. The Board must take an administrative action to approve the petitions to NCDOT in order for NCDOT to accept the roads into the State Maintenance Program. FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with this decision item. RECOMMENDATION(S): The Administration recommends that the Board approve the requests to add the above named roads to the State Secondary Road Maintenance Program. 2 RAINEYWOOD SUBDIVISION 0 ?
