a. Paint it Orange - went so well this year. We had talented artists (92 adults and 44
youths) who submitted excellent works. We raised $16,000 in donations and
sold 51 paintings on opening (22 opening night last year)
b. Jeep Raffle — launched Oct 4th and runs through December 19th. We must sell
1200 for the raffle to happen with a max of 2500 to be sold. Katie is asking all of
us on the Board to promote the raffle and to review the FAQ on the website.
c. December Mutal Aide Silent Auction proposal —event to assist the artists in
Western NC. Hold a silent auction for donated work to raise money. Also, ask
"Orange County connected" artists to share work for sale at no commission.
Denise mentioned that MusicMaker has a fund to help musicians in the western.
Lindsey said Peale is doing a fund raiser also and she is asking the artists to give
some % of their commission. Wendy said Art Center is doing a raffle during their
Elf Market asking folks to buy 2 raffles—one each. The Board discussed how the
county could support the organizations that are doing separate initiatives.
Having a silent action with the gallery December show could drive more business
for the artists with the show. Input on various options. The Board discussed that
organizations here need to be able to support their mission at the same time as
when they are helping the hard-hit areas.
