i) Art Camps going well. Experiencing swings in number of campers for the
different sessions. Next year, we need to save some money in the budget
to pay for "Helpers" at the camps.
ii) Bartending needs — Katie questioned if we should make the shifts1.5
hours instead of 1 hour so only needed two sets of bartenders. All agreed
iii) Need help getting word out for the next two show openings since the
shows are solo artists versus group shows.
iv) Chamber Orchestra is not moving into the Mill as previously announced.
Bull City is still moving into the Mill
b) UPROAR Festival — Kicks off 2nd Friday of July 2023 with Art Walk in Chapel
Hill (7/14/2023) and runs through middle of August (Saturday 8/12/23)
c) September board meeting moved to September 19th instead of the 9/12 —
all agreed.
d) AEP6 Survey- Arts Economic survey — all three towns are partnering with us
to lead the survey effort. Extremely important activity to show how much
money our non-profits spend on salary, supplies, etc. and how much money
art attendees spend in the community -- such as dining out, gas, babysitter,
etc. Survey questions must be answered at art events during the survey
period. Katie needs board volunteers to conduct the surveys during August
and September openings. Need a certain % of answers from people attending
art events serving communities of color. Surveys can be conducted at any
nonprofit event — UNC, Art Center, Eno Mill, PlayMakers, concerts, dance,
etc.
5) 2022-23 GAP/APG Grants Overview Katie Murray
