Commissioner Walker expressed interest in the portion of said petition which rune from stele

the interest of the Board in said petition and requesting information concerning the status of said

Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commisdoner Walker, and unanimously adopted, Mr.
Seibel was authorized to forward said proposed "Work Experience Program"to the proper agency.

August 30, 1965
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Monday, August 309 1965;
at 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Commissioners Room in the Courthouse in Hillsborough,
Members present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, Commissioners Henry S. Walker, William C. Ray,
and Carl M. Smith.
Member absent: Commissioner Gordon B. Cleveland.
It was moved, seconded axxi'passed that a permit be issued to the University of Nat Emerso ins
at Chapel Hill for a fireworks display to be held on the evening of September 30, 1965,
Field in Chapel Hill. The Clerk was instructed to write W. F. Little, Chairman of the Department of
Chemistry at the University and advise him of this action.
The balance of the evening was devoted to a discussion of a proposed ordinance to establish a
planning Board for Orange County.
There being no further business to coma before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
