RE: Upcoming Trails Plan Community Visioning Sessions
As part of the County Trails Plan project, the County - working in conjunction with
project consultant Gensler - is planning for two community visioning sessions in
May to engage the public on brainstorming and understanding the community's
vision for trail connectivity.
Both sessions will be interactive and open house style, so that residents may
drop in and participate, coming and going as needed. Participants will be invited
to share thoughts on what makes for successful trails, and what needs exist for
trails and trail connections between parks and open spaces in the county.
As shown in the attached flyer, Session 1 will be held on a Sunday afternoon,
May 18 at the Solid Waste Administration Center meeting room on Eubanks
Road in Chapel Hill from 2-5 pm, to provide an opportunity for residents who may
have challenges making a weeknight evening session.
Session 2 will be held Wednesday, May 21 from 6-9 pm at the Bonnie B. Davis
Center Meeting Room on US 70 West in Hillsborough. Registration (using the
QR code on the attached flyer) is suggested but not required.
The consultant and staff will use the feedback from the visioning sessions, along
with other feedback from online surveys, to develop a first draft of a plan during
the summer. The web site for the Trails Plan project is now active and may be
accessed at www.oran_.eq countync.com/TrailsPlan.
