Can submit more information by email for inclusion as an agenda item for discussion at a future meeting General Public Comments (not on agenda): None Monthly Meeting Attendance Record: Confirmed through approval of meeting minutes New Business: 1. Orange County Boards and Commissions Annual Report—ASAB needs to submit annual report by January17, 2025 and this will be presented in person to BOCC in February or March. Tiani Stamey, Interim Director of OCAS, has prepared a report with input from ASAB members and it will be presented by Page 2 of 6 Allan Polak as chairperson of ASAB. Collective input and editing of the report were done at today's meeting. ASAB Orientation for new members- there is a recorded video for each member to review and a session will be scheduled soon for Annie Goldberg, Michael Dempsey and Roni Peterson Animal Services Advisory Board: Currently have 1 vacancy on ASAB —Town of Hillsborough position. Tw applications have been received and these applicants are invited to attend a future ASAB meeting 1. Rhonda Patterson 2. Dr.Timothy Ives Old Business: Youth delegate committee presentation by Debby Hill—recommending adding two Youth Delegate positions (aged 13-17) and this can be an opportunity for the youth Page 3 of 6 volunteers that already come to OCAS. These would be a one-year term and non-voting position to encourage youth involvement in local government and to get more diverse input in ASAB proceedings. OCAS 2024 Statistics—unadjusted live release rate is 91%, adjusted live release rate is 93.3%. This exceeds the stated goal of 85% 2. Dogs Day Out program had 640 visits in 2024 3. 811 animals were fostered in 2024 4. Community Cat program had 336 cats that were sterilized and returned to community 5. 105 barn cats were adopted out 6. 12,702 Volunteer hours were logged in 2024—this exceeded the stated goal of 1000 hours/month, and this does not include the school group organizations that volunteer regularly 7. Director position interviews will be at the end of January. 8. Dr. Jarred is working on OCAS pursuing a permit from the NC Veterinary Medical Board to allow sterilization of owned animals. 9. Cat Tales rescue is proposing a partnership for microchip implantation. 10. Melissa Ramirez-Grimaldi has had great success within OCAS for managing volunteers and programs. Informal Discussion: 1. Scheduling a tour of OCAS for ASAB volunteers after the March 191h meeting. 2. Allan Polak has asked all members to bring ideas for 2025 initiatives and goals to next meeting Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 7:39 pm.
