PURPOSE: To consider making ane appointment to the Economic Development Commission.
BACKGROUND: The Clerk's Office has received, from the City of Mebane, a request to
appoint Bernie Bean to the EDC. Mr, Bean would be appointed to the Mebane ETJ position, If
appointed, Mr. Bean will be serving a partial term which will end 6/30/2007,
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making one appointment to the EDC, as the Board may desire.

business owners and everything else that distinguishes Chapel Hill. My primary purpose
in wanting to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission is that I have an
understanding of the needs as well as the constraints that must be imposed in such an

South Carolina in a historic district there. During my tenure in college I was a member of
the Ginghaul Castle, so I know that neighborhood as well. This is something that I would
