The following tax resolution was unanimously adopted:
North Carolina, Orange County. To the Tax Collector of Orange County:
You are hereby authorized, empowered and commanded.tc collect the taxes
set forth in the tax books, filed in the office of the Tax Collector, and in the
tax receipts herewith delivered to you, in the amounts and from the taxpayers
likewise therein set forth, and such taxes are hereby declared to be a first lien
on all real property of the respective taxpayers in Orange County, and this order
shall be a full and sufficient authority to direct, require and enable you to
levy on and sell any real or personal property of such taxpayers, for and on
account thereof, in accordance with law.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned to
meet October 12, 196h, at 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Commissioners Room.in the Courthouse in
Hillsboro, for the organizational meeting of the County Advisory Committee. The Clerk was instructed
to notify each member of said committee.

Minutes of the Board of County Commissioners
October 12, 196L
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Monday, October 12, 1964,
at 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in Hillsboro, N. C. The purpose
of this meeting was to discuss with the members of the County Advisory Committee their duties and
responsibilities.
Members present: Chairman Donald Stanford, Commissioners Carl M. Smith and Harvey D. Bennett.
Members absent: Commissioners Gordon B. Cleveland and Henry S. Walker.
The following members of the'County Advisory Committee were present:
Graham Creel R. Hume Claytor, Jr.
W. E. Thompson E. H. Edwards
Mrs. Dorothy Kiester W. G. Wrenn
Mrs. Jean Rogers C. W. Davis
James H. Peace Harvey Ray
James Wight, Welfare Director and Paul Siebel, Community Services Consultant, were also
present to discuss with this committee same of the provisions of this program. Chairman Stanford
turned the meeting over to Mr. "might and Mr. Siebel,and the Board of Commissioners then excused
themselves from the assembly.
The Board reassembled in the Sheriff's Office and drew a jury panel of 36 names for the
November 9, 1964 Special Criminal Term of Court.
There being no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned.
