Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) cases and Work First cases have decreased; this is attributed to recertification periods and clients not being used to meeting recertification deadlines. In the Medicaid area the data shows a stark decline; this is related to the Medicaid rule change. Our number of youth in foster care during this quarter is stable. The data for APS shows an ebb and flow. Chair, Jane Garrett asked why there is an increase in APS numbers. Director, Nancy Coston explained some of this can be attributed to a rise in the aging population while other factors include issues with accessing services (mental health).
