BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners (BOGC) makes four appointments to the Carrboro Planning Board, two of which are far Extraterritorial .Jurisdiction (ETJ) positions and two of which are for Transition Area (TA) positions. There is one TA vacancy on the Carrboro Planning Board and two eligible applications have been received in the Clerk's office. The Carrboro Board of Aldermen adopted a Resolution Requesting Appointments to the Carrboro Planning Board (see attached) in which the appointment of Mr. David Clinton is requested. The Resolution was received in the Clerk's office on March 12, 2004. It is a statutory requirement that the BOCC make an appointment to a Carrboro Planning Board ETJ and/or Transition Area position within 90 days after receiving such a Resolution; otherwise, the Carrboro Board of Aldermen may make this appointment. The deadline far the BOCC to make these appointments is June 10, 2004. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. Bcx 8181 Hillsborough, N.C. 27278 Deaz Mr. Link: The Carrboro Boazd of Aldermen at its meeting on March 2, 2004 adopted the attached resolutions requesting appointments to the Carrboro Board of Adjustment and Planning Board. The Board is requesting that Mr. John Ring be re-appointed to a Transition Area seat on the Boazd of Adjustment. His new term will expire in February 2007, Ia addition, the Boazd is requesting that Susan Poulton and Frank Hammill be appointed to Transition Area seats on the Planniug.Floarsl. Ms. Poulton's term would expire in February 2005, and Mr, Hanunill's term would expire in February 2007. The Boazd is also requestine that David (Tinton be appointed to an ETJ seat on His term would expire in February 2007.
