BACKGROUND: Orange County Emergency Services is working to replace the computer aided dispatch system beginning this fiscal year. As part of this project, new computer server hardware is required to meet the specifications of the new system. Emergency Services staff with support from Information Technologies` staff selected CDW/G to provide Nutanix server hardware and accessories required for the new CAD system using the competitively bid Omnia Partners contract # 2018011-01. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total cost of the required hardware is $378,410.80. The Board of Commissioners approved $2,800,000 in the FY 2024-25 Capital Investment Plan (CIP) for public safety software enhancements to include this project. The combination of CIP and approved Emergency Telephone System Funds covers the total cost of all portions of the CAD replacement project outlined for this item and the two other CAD-related items on this September 5, 2024 Business meeting agenda. ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: • GOAL 2: Healthy Community OBJECTIVE 5. Invest in, support, train, and retain our community safety, health, and emergency services employees and direct care workforce. OBJECTIVE 6. Provide sustainable, equitable, and high-quality community safety and emergency services to meet the community's evolving needs. 2 The replacement CAD system will ensure Emergency Services and partner public safety agencies have the best possible tools to remain at the forefront of ever-developing technology to respond to the needs of the community. RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the purchase of the server hardware as outlined in the attached quote and authorize staff to move forward with execution of the purchase as appropriate. 3 Thank you for choosing CDW.
